Russia has initiated a free trade agreement with 27 countries worldwide (25 of which are located in Africa and Asia). The initiative is implemented under the Eurasian economical Community.
The list includes, among others, India, Egypt, Israel, Indonesia, Tunisia and others Conversations with each of these countries are at a different phase of progress.
A akin agreement has already been reached with Iran. It has been in force since 15 May. It provides for a simplification or abolition of duties on most of the exported goods.
Following the tightening of relations with the European Union and the United States due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Moscow seeks to build a sustainable alternate in the alleged Global South countries. The Russians are besides making efforts to destruct the US dollar in common settlements.
