Moscow intends to reap the benefits of American operations in Venezuela, as it believes that Donald Trump is willing to divide the planet into “areas of influence”, reported the news agency Reuters citing 2 high-ranking Russian officials.
According to 1 of them, the overthrow of Nicolas Maduro can be seen as acting in the spirit of the Monroe Doctrine of 1823 in which the full Western hemisphere was treated as an American sphere of influence. In that case, “Russia besides has its sphere of influence”.
The Kremlin publically demonstrates the outrage of American action in Venezuela. American success showed what a well-planned and conducted "special military operation" could look like. In this respect, it is simply a blow toPresident Vladimir Putin, who, in almost 4 years of war, could not even occupy the full Donetsk circuit, bearing tremendous losses.
