Instead of a peculiar supplement of PLN 45, soldiers who carry out tasks related to, among others, the fight against natural disasters or the removal of their effects will receive a diet for home travel. Its amount was set at PLN 180 for each day of action. The higher service is intended to compensate for hard service conditions and increase financial motivation.
Professional soldiers, depending on their service and position, receive allowances for basic salaries. 1 of them, the alleged special, is entitled to peculiar qualities or conditions of service. It is paid to soldiers for, for example, flights in the composition of military aircraft crews, underwater work with diving equipment or parachute jumps. They can besides number on additional money to be paid to military personnel active in search and rescue or protection of wellness and human life, operating in the area of crisis management and carrying out tasks related to the fight against natural disasters or their consequences. However, the situation has now changed due to the fact that MON has developed fresh government on this issue. The proposed regulations have just been published in the authoritative diary of the Laws. In line with fresh solutions, professional soldiers who have tasks in combating natural disasters or eliminating their effects, crisis management, search and rescue or protection of human wellness and life, are entitled to a peculiar allowance, not so far, but a national travel allowance. Her regular rate is PLN 180. In order for a soldier to receive it, it is essential that the tasks related to natural disasters or crisis management be carried out on the basis of a work order (a applicable point in the command of the unit commander).
However, in a higher amount than before, the peculiar allowance has been retained in the event of carrying out search and rescue or protection of human wellness and life (no travel). For specified actions the military will be able to receive 180 zł per day (early 45 zł). “To avoid double gratification of soldiers, there is simply a reservation in the fresh regulations that if a soldier undertakes a business journey to participate in search and rescue or protection of wellness and human life, the peculiar allowance will not be granted”, the representatives of the MON justify.
What about the tasks related to natural disasters or crisis management that soldiers will carry out at the place of service? In specified situations, MON provided for another financial gratuities, specified as the payment of an additional incentive benefit.
Similar changes will include non-professional soldiers, including territorialists or those performing voluntary essential military service. In their case, the peculiar supplement of PLN 45 was besides replaced by a diet of PLN 180. However, the condition for receiving money will be to execute tasks outside the place of permanent deployment. – This means that in order for a non-professional soldier to receive a diet, it will be essential to give an appropriate point for the day-to-day command to direct this soldier on a business journey – the representatives of the MON inform.
The provisions apply retroactively, i.e. from 12 September. The date is not accidental, due to the fact that then, due to the flood in south-western Poland, the work started with the first engineering task forces separated from operational troops. In the beginning, soldiers helped, among others, to strengthen floodbanks and evacuate residents from flood areas, as well as to organize food and water transportation points. From 23 September began Operation Fenix aimed at protecting the lives and wellness of the population and helping citizens. Currently, soldiers aid residents to destruct the effects of natural disasters, specified as road mutilation, cleaning from debris and flood debris of residential buildings and public buildings, They besides build bridges and disinfect surfaces. Almost 12.5 1000 military are active in the action.
