The past of Huta Częstochowa is nearly 130 years old. The plant has already earned the name of 1 of the largest steel producers in Poland. However, fresh years have been bad. In 2019, Huta ceased production and was on the brink of collapse. She was saved by government intervention. At the end of November 2024, Huta leased a company controlled by Węglokoks – a 100 percent company owned by the Treasury. In January that year, the company resumed production. In the next fewer months, his employees produced 260 1000 tons of steel, which went to, among another things, PGZ War Shipyard in Gdynia.

The notarial act on behalf of the minister was signed by Paweł Bejda, Deputy Chief of the MON. This decision is expected to kind out the legal situation of the plant. Huta's assets on behalf of the Ministry will be managed by the Military Property Agency. It will be imported into Huta Częstochowa, which operates within the framework of the already mentioned Carboncox.

At the same time, Częstochowa can be happy to set up a large production plant. “For the first time in history, the Minister of National Defence uses Article 311 of bankruptcy law and expresses his desire to acquisition a strategical acquisition for the safety of the state of the company,” Kosiniak-Kamysz points out.

Deputy Prime Minister recalls that the Częstochowa plant is able to carry out the full production process of thick sheets on its own – from steel production itself, through hardening, cutting to digestion. Huta besides has the largest mill in the country. “There is no second steelworks in Poland that have specified capabilities,” the Deputy Prime Minister points out. The full area of the production hall is 50 ha, making it 1 of the largest specified facilities in the world.
