In November last year Moldova received all the announced 19 wheeled armored transporters Piranha IIIH, which it received under US$40 million aid from the European Union. Transferred vehicles previously were utilized by Danish land troops but were later redeemed by Germany. Now, according to user @RealDacianDraco dealing with, among others, the Romanian defence Zone, Berlin was to decide to deliver to Moldova another 14 transporters as part of military aid. This would thus let the withdrawal of all BTR-60/70s utilized by the Moldovan army, which would receive much more modern vehicles in their place. As stressed by Dacian Draco, the service and possible upgrades of the mentioned Pirania will take place in Romanian joint-venture companies UMB-General Dynamics.
