My challenge for the next time - halt smoking cigarettes!

niepoprawni.pl 1 year ago

I have already written about smoking cigarettes in the text entitled "Oh... these addictions..." [1] and present I gotta halt smoking. I'm certain smoking besides contributed to my stroke, so I have no choice but to...

But I must admit right away: I've been smoking cigarettes for years, although I've managed to dump them for about 3 years and without any kind of medicine like pills or patches. Why did I come back? I don't know, but I guess after all this time, burning 1 couldn't hurt... and it flew. For the first 3 or 4 days I smoked small to yet "burn like a dragon" again first weak and then strong cigarettes.

But smoking truly is smoking. And it doesn't truly substance whether we smoke thin or thick cigarettes, weak or strong, menthol or cherry, conventional or alleged e-cigarettes. Smoking is smoking, it is simply a nicotine addiction and there is no value in this addiction. And I find it amusing to have various anti-smoking campaigns that restrict or prohibit the sale of menthol cigarettes or others, or the request to place frightening images on packages. It just doesn't work on nicotine addicts. They gotta want to quit their addiction, in this case nicotine.

I've heard so many times, but I smoke lights, or... I smoke only 4 cigarettes a day. That's not so bad! I think it's just cheating on yourself...

Smoking even the weak ones, or only 4 per day, is an addiction, and it is worth knowing that it has the same negative effect on our body as smoking more cigarettes. any alcoholics, e.g. (but not only) frequently – possibly as their own justification – say that beer is not alcohol (in the sense of strong wine, vodka, spirits or their inventions)... Oh, my God! The small apple is not a large apple, but it's an apple... weak tea is not strong tea, but it is tea... so beer is besides an alcoholic beverage... And there's no request to enter a completely false same image, make a false illusion of your own addiction.

You might ask, why smoke at all if 4 is enough... For pleasure? For one, you can burn 1 all period or six months. But 4 a day for pleasure? Is this something of a regular pleasure... or is it necessary? And besides, 4 on an average day, but during, like, a Friday night in a pub, it's like 10 cigarettes, or more can be smoked, right? And the weak ones too...

I've always been fascinated by the marketing procedures of tobacco companies or another products that might be addictive. It is already natural (in many industries) to make the alleged seemingly expanding scope by creating fresh brands whose alleged core of the product is unchanged. A fresh vodka with the same content as another vodka and marketing power, customer/consumer manipulation can be perfectly convinced that it tastes different and is completely different... The same is actual with many products and with cigarettes also...

So either we're going to do as much as we want or we're not going to do anything. Why bother by limiting smoking or artificially creating our own needs to find the choice of a peculiar cigaret brand? If we're smoking, "let's catch the day" with a cigaret and say goodbye to 30 of those already burned out. It's just something, not there "from time to time," or even frequently hide the fact of smoking... which frequently happens... and all the time think that the minute will come shortly and the time that you can smoke... due to the fact that we have a limited number of cigarettes to smoke a day... Oh, how we all think about smoking all the time, I guess... These are the torments... and yet in perspective... money keeps coming... cigarettes that are costly now are... Oh... we're angry that we smoke, but we smoke. We're even more angry that we spend so much on cigarettes, but we inactive smoke and consequently we're angry that cigarettes are so expensive... The wheel and hypocrisy...

However, no substance how much we smoke and what cigarettes, the effects of smoking are identical. The worst thing for me is intellectual addiction, so incapacitation from (in this case) nicotine. If I smoke, she rules me, not me. This desire to smoke is the determining origin in my behaviour - I do not make it myself or am not its initiator. I'm just a slave, a slave of something invisible, called nicotine, whose expression is to enslave me by being rolled up in a rulon so white with an orange mouthpiece and any hay inside. likewise with another addictions: alcohol, drugs, shopping, computers and games, sex, gambling, etc. - we are slaves to our addictions.

After all, the deficiency of a cigaret (or another attributes of addiction) triggers the worst emotions in us: anger, anger, interior anxiety, rage. frequently the closest and closest surroundings suffer... So we run to the kiosk to... buy these cigarettes, smoke them, enlist ourselves, and... the planet is ours, we're already calm, we're fine... to the nearest necessity of lighting another... Is that not slavery and incapacitation?

One can besides halt being a slave and become a deciding man about oneself and making informed choices. You can just quit smoking. It's more hard than even the alcohol withdrawal by an alcoholic (beyond the alcohol string)... I assure you.

And the best way to be truly free and decide about ourselves with our own free will... is to drop all addictions and see how beautiful the planet can be erstwhile we don't have to... we don't gotta smoke a cigarette, we don't gotta take a drug, we don't gotta buy a better car, we don't gotta visit a beauty store today, we don't gotta do surgical nose adjustments again, we don't gotta drink alcohol, we don't gotta have a better cell phone, etc.

Personally, I am opposed to treating addictions by administering pharmacological substitutes for addictive drugs, e.g. in the case of nicotine: any patch, rubber, etc., containing nicotine. If we're gonna quit, it's best to quit right now. 1 day and it's over. The usage of patches, whether rubber or another "cudo makers" is nothing else, both from a psychobiological and physical point of view, as well as - in my opinion - almost so-called: the limitation of smoking to respective or respective pieces, or smoking to half. It is only and only cheating yourself and your body. It's like we don't smoke and we supply nicotine... so it's like we're actually smoking.

The "parapharmaceutical" companies are masters in creating fear and inventing to destruct this state of fear of subsequent, miraculous medicines or alleged parapharmaceuticals (a superb procedure to marketplace untested "stranges") or to sustain sales (demand) on their products. Do you think if all these patches were effective... Is that how they would be advertised and spent unnecessarily immense financial resources? They gotta turn around, don't they? And a smoker like an alcoholic will always effort to find an explanation that he tries and - even though he already bought and failed erstwhile - he will buy one more time even to calm his loved ones or his conscience.

Throwing all addiction, including cigarettes, depends only on ourselves, any say it depends on "our head," "touch in the head." Yes, sir. It's truly up to us and our strength to decide to get out of addiction. Whether we want to or pretend to want to. The patch or the gum won't quit smoking for us! So if we want and we're determined, why do we request patches and rubber? Unless, from the beginning, we've been in the world's usual confabulation and deception of ourselves or around ourselves...

I didn't smoke for 3 years, and at first, I was in agony, I gained 11 kilos, and after 2 weeks, it was "a nicotine hunger gone, I was proud, and... in a stress-free situation, I started smoking again... one... to return to average smoking for a week.

But I'm going to effort to quit again due to the fact that I'm sick of being enslaved by a cigarette... and I want to be free erstwhile and for all and decide for myself... and not look at the smoke I breathe out with the feeling that smoking tells me that I'm enslaved.

Of course, smoking is not the worst addiction affecting our consciousness and behavior. I'm certain the worst are the ones that affect that consciousness like alcoholism or drug abuse. This does not mean that we do not gotta fight all our addictions, due to the fact that then we can feel truly free. Which I want to all addicts.

Notabene – quitting smoking will be very hard for me, but I am already convinced that I will succeed. possibly the fact that this is publically announced in this text will besides be an additional motivation. I, of course, let the thought that my hope of success will turn out to be burning and I will stay with this smoking for the remainder of my life, but I will do anything to make certain that doesn't happen!

Or does 1 of the readers have any affirmative experience of quitting smoking and have any good advice for me? And I'm not talking about advice like, "you gotta make a man's decision" or "no smoking is easy, you just gotta want."

P.S.

I urge a late published very good book on all kinds of addictions, the first Polish edition of which is available in Empik: Gabor Maté, Close meetings with addiction. In the planet of hungry spirits, Black Sheep, Warsaw 2021. The author describes in an innovative way various types of addictions and the book I urge to all, even those who are not in any way overpowered by any addiction. The author himself - the doctor worked with addicts for over 10 years and himself admits that he is fighting shoppingholism.
