Modzelewski: I thought we were smarter

Another volume of Polish-Russian sketches by Prof. Witold Modzelewski (with preliminary votes by Maria Szyszkowska, Stanisław Bielenia, Adam Wielomski, Mateusz Piskorski, Jan Engelgard and Artur Bartoszewicz) was published.

In the introduction to this volume, the author writes: “This is the tenth, yet jubilee volume of the series “Poland-Russia”. In an crucial part it is devoted to contemporary issues, as we have been under the overwhelming influence of everyday life for almost 2 years, dominated by the propaganda war with Russia, formal and actual restrictions on freedom of speech, and organized or spontaneous attack on any deviation from the existing correctness. The crusade against the “unbelievers” (official propaganda) runs all applicable centres of power: from legislative, executive, to the 4th – media. erstwhile the war of the State of Israel against the Palestinians has erupted with a fresh force that has lasted for almost eighty years (that is to say, the non-existent "people" on a non-terrestrial land), the propagandists are already "worked" (as they are now said to be) and are fighting on a fresh front, due to the fact that something needs to cover up the genocide of civilians (Palestinians) in the execution of a state which, as in the case of Ukraine governed by the current authorities in Kiev, is unconditionally supported by the "world leadership" and its faithful vasssals.

We are witnessing a propaganda reset, and he is frequently ahead of political change. The Western War with Russia is no longer and will not be the most important, so the panic of local “hycli” will be eased (this young generation calls those who fight zealously incorrect views). It may be an chance to DREAM (also a fresh word) the debate on our interests, including primarily in relations with Russia. In the introduction to this volume, I would besides like to mention to the forecasts presented in the ninth volume, as well as the erstwhile ones. I'll mention them briefly:

− there was no (although there was a chance in early 2022) of any affirmative "reset" in bilateral relations. They were so bad that many constructively-minded politicians and specialists advocated for any of them after the law[1], before we were marginalized by a strategical German-Russian alliance, where there was no place for us. Even at the turn of 2021 and 2022 it was clear that the future could only be worse, although even in an economical sense relations were beneficial for us – we bought inexpensive gas, coal, oil (and not only). At the time, the Ukrainian-Russian war hadn't bothered us yet. The disaster of our relations – to the large detriment of Polish citizens – came after 26 February 2022. So it was "reset" but with only a negative (for us) balance sheet;

− a somewhat wishful argument has not been confirmed that Old Europe, acting solely in its own interest, will lead to an army in the Ukrainian-Russian War, before there is simply a deep and lasting economical and demographic collapse (i.e. disaster) Ukraine and the definitive failure of all the benefits that this region of the planet benefited from from good relations with Russia (cheap natural materials, Russian investments, outlets). I have overestimated both the independency and the imagination of the political class there, which, of its own free will, or at the command of “world leadership”, not only works for its own harm (it happens), but besides leads to the permanent impoverishment of its societies. Of course, since October 2023, erstwhile the large War started, there is simply a chance for a quiet reset with Russia, but we will not participate in it regardless of who will regulation Poland. Our full political class has been zealously bidding for the past 10 years besides in foolish hostility to Russia, and divisions have appeared only on a level of faithfulness to various "leadership" (European, or German, or global). We have already lost “our war” in the east, and this is the 3rd defeat in the last 20 years – before that we fought bravely in Iraq and Afghanistan on the yet defeated side. I hope that Israel's conflict with the Palestinians is not "our war" and that we will not lose for the 4th time;

− I thought that self-preservation instinct would be active in the Kiev authorities, and, in addition, the exhaustion of resources would save their citizens the unwieldy and destitution that this war brings, leading to the suspension of military action. It is not known why (the "world leadership"?) individual decided differently and ordered, and above all they gave the chance to wage this war with another people's resources, and the immense aid coming from the West proved to be a large business for those who can make money from it. It turned out (here I underestimated the evolution and importance of these interests) that the continuation of this war gives an chance to permanently open up the European marketplace for sale to Ukrainian agricultural crops, due to the fact that respective "international" companies had a unique chance to destruct most of the agriculture[1]the Old and fresh Europe. If we lose this war to them too, it will be more than a disaster;

− My naivety was the supposition that the political class, including the majority of the media, "finally" ruled by any reasonableness. During the wars, self-preservation, compromise ability, and restraint have been common for centuries. A good example was the affirmative metamorphosis of Polish elites after the January uprising, or – rather late – after the Polish sanctioning defeat in 1939. Meanwhile, Ukraine's disaster here has been interpreted as beginning the way to make any absurdity in the form of confederation or even federation with this most corrupt country, even without asking if anyone (no one) is curious in specified an idea. The full political class and the media (with fewer exceptions) bid in contempt and naivety towards Russia, which they believe "must lose this war". erstwhile it turned out that this festival of nonsense would end in blamash, and most countries – even tiny ones – could follow their own interests, authoritative and self-proclaimed censors, who were zealously fighting any deviations from proukran propaganda, moved into the fight. A blow between their eyes he personally asked them Volodymyr Zelenski, which requires Poland to submit unconditionally to the interests of "their" oligarchs. Just saying: I thought we were capable of doing our own business, which means we're a small smarter.

It is simply a reminder of only these most crucial considerations and besides from erstwhile volumes. The balance of fresh years is definitely negative. The "Eastern Policy" has led to costly and impoverishment of citizens, a fall in the value of assets and an embarrassing incompetence in arranging any crucial matters that concern us. It is not shameful to lose[1] a conflict in a war that can be won. It is foolish to endure defeats and sacrifices in wars in which we must neither actively nor passively participate. someway no 1 noticed that the sacrifices of our society since February 26, 2022 had no influence on whether Ukrainian oligarchs would defend their interests or not.

The objectives of this war are changing. Now you[1] request to get everything you can from there (especially people), due to the fact that there has been a "more crucial war" that can besides be lost. After all, the United States has not won a military confrontation in a long time. Of all the countries under attack, they withdrew with their tail tucked in, and abandoned weapons of multibillion-dollar value and... their vassals. That's not what the wars were about. Their goal was to keep the unprofitable military sector in that country and to rob conquered states, not any military victory. The new, VERY crucial WAR, and especially the US elections, will change our attitude towards Russia. any "reset" will begin on the signal, and the haunted (today) propaganda (including especially the net geostrategists) will have nothing to do with the robot[1]. But we will keep an essential part of their foolishness. For later. It will be useful erstwhile we can reactivate it.”
