For 10 years, it has been 1 of the most interesting linguistic events in Poland — Youth Word of the Year plebiscite, organized by the PWN technological Publishing House. This is not only fun, but besides a evidence of the past of young people's language – full of energy, irony, empathy and distance. It is here that parents and teachers know words specified as “dzban”, “essa”, “rel” or “sigma”. Elders have an chance to look at the planet of youth inaccessible to them for a while, and young people are treated with respect as co-writers of the language and language image of the world.
This year the PWN celebrates the 10th anniversary of the IAS. From October 8 to November 5 you can submit your own suggestions for words along with their meanings and examples of use. The most interesting will be in the finals, and on November 13, a vote will take place in which we will choose the Youth Word of the Year 2025.
The results will be presented on 8 December during the final gala.
