Wars will take place in Kosmosa and Poland must be strong there to be safe on Earth – said Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamish during the beginning ceremony at the Military method Academy of the Satellite Mission Control Centre. The university is from now on the only institution in Poland able to run satellite operations and train the operators of these systems for the military.

With the ground mission control centre opened today, the already existing WAT ground section will service the operational management of the PIAST project's satellites, whose goal is to build and deploy 3 nanosite constellations in space.
WAT has besides become the only institution in Poland to have the ability to conduct satellite operations independently and to train future satellite strategy operators for the military. As stated by the Rector-Commander WAT, Brig. Gen. Prof. Przemysław Wachulak, the university has a unique infrastructure in the country to operate a satellite reflection mission. "It is the centre that fits into the efforts to constantly increase the competence of our armed forces to recognise from the satellite ceiling," said the general.
Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stressed during the beginning ceremony that the Polish Army is gaining further capabilities in Kosmosa. – Building the safety of Poland, our compatriots – this is simply a comprehensive task which requires activities in all domain: land, sea, air, cyberspace and space – said the head of the MON. "Today's launch of the Satellite Mission Control Centre is 1 of the key moments of acquiring the ability to observe, influence, including safety provision," said Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamish.
On the occasion of the inauguration, a live connection to the satellite passing through the ground station was presented Military method Academy. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that it was possible to see how rapidly we were able to visualize, communicate with the satellite, delegate tasks to it, and, if necessary, improve its work. He besides announced that already in November of that year, the first Polish satellites will be placed in orbit – both nanosately in the PIAST program and satellites purchased from ISI.
MON Vice-Chief Caesary Tomczyk added that before us “a full constellation that will scope heaven.” “It is simply a revolution, in terms of both armed forces and capabilities of the Polish state,” he said. On the another hand, Vice-President of the MON Stanisław Wzątek stressed that "preparing for contemporary challenges, the challenges of the future is our commitment and necessity".
The WAT ground section is an infrastructure for satellite reflection missions. The related tasks are to implement communication connections with satellites, monitor satellite status, plan observations and orbital maneuvers, and respond to emergency situations. The station will besides service the operational management of the PIAST task satellites, which is co-financed by the National Centre for investigation and improvement under the SZAFIR programme initiated by the Ministry of Defence. In view of its wide possible and the application of professional standards utilized in satellite communications, it can form part of the national network of ground stations. It is simply a long-term investment.
