Ministry of Trade: China tightens export controls on dual-use goods to Japan

On January 6, China's Ministry of Commerce's press spokesperson stated that nipponese leaders had late made erroneous comments about Taiwan publicly, suggesting the anticipation of military intervention in the Taiwan Strait. These actions constitute a violent interference in China's interior affairs, they seriously violate the rule of 1 China and their nature and effects are highly damaging.

The Ombudsman stressed that in order to defend the safety and national interests and to fulfil global obligations to prevent proliferation, in accordance with the Law on Export Control of the People's Republic of China, the Regulation of the People's Republic of China on the control of exports of dual-use goods and another applicable laws, China has decided not to export any dual-use goods to nipponese military users, to military applications and to any another end-users that may contribute to strengthening Japan's military potential.

At the same time, it was noted that organisations and natural persons from any country or region which would infringe the above provisions by transferring or making available dual-use goods originating in the People's Republic of China to organisations or individuals in Japan would be held liable in accordance with applicable law.
