On September 16, 2026, the Ministry of Digital Affairs conducted another circular of consultations on the improvement of competition documentation related to the implementation of open software in public administration.

The consultation included issues of security, interoperability and digital sovereignty.

Ryszard Łuczyn – who is the president of the working group set up in the Ministry of Open Software in the public administration – stressed at the beginning of the gathering that the pilotage of the competition is at a "advanced phase of work". He later confirmed his words in an interview with “Contrabanda”.

As the "Contrabands" have learned, the competition documentation and the circumstantial dates for launching pilotage are not yet available to the public. From erstwhile information published by the Ministry of Digital Affairs to date, that pilotage is to last a year.

June 2026 The Ministry of Digital Affairs conducted a study, which showed the scale of usage of closed software among 604 public sector units.

The implementation of open software in public administration is besides 1 of the objectives of "Polish Digitalism Strategies” where it was declared that a “repository verified for the safety of open software for the Polish administration” would be established.
