The United States is changing its approach to Ukraine, and it is boiling in our country – especially among those who have repeatedly said in fresh years that Ukraine is about to win a spectacular triumph and Russia will fall under the burden of its own infirmity and stupidity.
The reality decided to brutally verify these predictions, and now the same “experts” are tearing their hair off their heads, incapable to accept that the United States is not curious in supporting the Ukrainian–Russian war forever.
In the case of Ukraine, Trump's approach to pain is simple: peace is the most crucial – and as shortly as possible, regardless of the consequences for Kiev or Moscow. The rest, i.e. values, alliances, political prestige of Ukraine or Polish rhetoric about "the fight of good and evil", is of secondary importance to him. If peace can be achieved at the expense of territorial concessions or changes in Ukrainian leadership – it is difficult, that is the reality.
The erstwhile arrangement was simple: Zelenski is simply a character without fault, and Putin – a criminal who was not even allowed to talk to. All it took was to constantly send money and weapons, pat yourself on the back and shout “The fame of Ukraine!” and the remainder was expected to work out somehow. The problem is that war is governed by its rights, and global policy is not based solely on religion and good intentions. Now that the first signals of negotiations have emerged, there is simply a minute of unpleasant confrontation with facts.
And the facts are that Zelenski's days seem numbered. Either he will leave alone, tired of the situation and interior conflicts, or he will be removed as a consequence of the conflict for power by those who know that Kiev without the support of America is simply a marathoner on the last kilometers – you can see determination, but forces are getting little and less.
Someone else will surely appear in his place – most likely more willing to agree and closer to Washington's real interests. due to the fact that the most crucial thing is that Ukraine should yet halt being a black hole, absorbing billions of dollars and start being a business project.
And Poland? Well, Poland, as always, will find itself in this situation at its own request, since for 2 years there was no area for alternate thinking. Politics based on non-reflective slogans and holy outrage at any effort at realism has proved to be highly effective... in subjugating its own maneuverability. Now that America is starting to play a different tune, the Polish authorities, alternatively of being an active associate in this change, stay in position, despairing that reality did not want to fit propaganda messages.
