Military medics are on their way

Military mobile medical outpatients are formed in the smallest places that have suffered during the flood. The first 1 already receives patients in Lewina Brzeski, another are on their way to the village close Lądka-Zdrój. Military doctors and paramedics will supply medical assistance, vaccinate against tetanus, compose prescriptions, and, if necessary, call for transport to the hospital.

The army brings medical assistance to the flooded not only in military field infirmary and military clinic in Nysa, there are besides mobile medical outpatients. “They will operate in the smallest towns in agrarian areas where doctors are needed, who will aid people directly,” said Deputy Minister of defence Cezary Tomczyk at the morning emergency staff gathering in Wrocław.

These teams are coordinated by the commandant 4 Military Clinical infirmary with Polyclinic in Wrocław. – Our task is to support the civilian wellness strategy in Lower Silesia – informs Colonel Wojciech Tański, the commander of the facility. Staff for mobile medical teams were seconded by commandants: 7 Naval infirmary in Gdańsk, Military Medical Institute and the Military Institute of Aviation medicine in Warsaw, the 10th Military Clinical infirmary with Pollinika in Bydgoszcz, the 5th Military Clinical infirmary with Pollinika in Krakow and the infirmary in Wrocław. Others are on their way to the village of Trzebieszowice, Żelazno, Krosnoce, Ołdrzychowice, and others are preparing for action.

Doctors and paramedics from these teams will supply basic medical assistance, treat injuries, compose prescriptions, besides for chronically sick people who proceed treatment. If necessary, they will vaccinate patients against tetanus and hepatitis A. In case hospitalization is needed, medical or air transport emergency services will call.

Medical teams will be available 24 hours a day. Ambulances will be stationed in the towns throughout the day, and for the night they will decision to Lądka-Zdrój, where they can rapidly scope the designated location if necessary. Mobile outpatients will stay in water-damaged villages and towns as long as they request to. “If the situation requires this and we get specified information from the provincial crisis team, we will decision these teams to another places”, added Colonel Tanski.

The commander of the Wroclaw infirmary besides stresses that his facility is besides supported by a field infirmary in Nysa, to which she transferred medical diagnostic equipment. “In our hospital, too, we aid people affected by floods. Fortunately, these are usually insignificant injuries or infections, after the supply of which the victims can return home – says Colonel Tanski.
