Cybersecurity Centre for hospitals, trains prepared to evacuate the population and fresh places of refuge – including specified investments will be created in Małopolska thanks to changes in the regional programme approved by the European Commission. More than a billion zlotys will be spent on projects to strengthen safety and preparedness for the crisis.

The authorities of the Małopolskie Voivodeship requested 3 months ago approval from the European Commission to transfer part of the appropriations allocated under the European Funds for Małopolska 2021–2027 programme. The goal was one: to spend more money on safety projects. The EC has just approved changes in the program. This means that Małopolska will be able to invest over a billion zlotys in safety projects, anti-crisis preparation and dual-use technologies.
This will enable the region to build or modernise, among others, dual-use infrastructure (e.g. roads, bridges or trains that can besides service the military in the event of a conflict), technological laboratories and emergency water and energy supply systems. "We are pleased that the European Commission has responded positively to our request for changes to the programme. In practice, this will supply fresh places of temporary refuge and evacuation. The creation of a unique competence center that will strengthen cybersecurity in the region, especially hospitals. Crisis infrastructure
The programme provides for the construction of double-use facilities and parking lots that will service residents on a regular basis, and in emergency situations they will become places of emergency shelter, first aid and evacuation.
