Marek Migalski from the University of Silesia received disciplinary punishment from the university for comments on the death of pilot F-16, Major Maciej Krakowian.
An F-16 accident occurred on 28 August during exercises in front of AirSHOW in Radom. An experienced pilot, Major Maciej “Slab” Krakowian, leader of the show squad F-16 Tiger Demo Team, died there. The tragic death of the pilot in a scandalous way he commented on the social media Migalski, calling the deceased, among another things, "aeronaut" and "a failure", which provoked widespread outrage.
Jacek Szymik-Kozaczko said that 2 disciplinary talks were held with him before the decision to punish Migalski: with the Rector of the University prof. Ryszard Koziołek and with the Ombudsman of Rights and Academic Values. The Rector stressed that the publication on social media does not release work for words.
Migalski later commented on the university's decision, ironically pointing out that the condemnation of his words by the rector only increased interest in the case.
