Since the beginning of August, a military operation under the code name Safe Podlasie. Within this framework, soldiers support police and border guards in the protection of the Polish-Belarusian border. According to its social media, the General Command as part of operations 6100 troops has carried out 370 pedestrian patrols and over 100 mobile patrols within a month, as well as 14 reflection posts. In August there were 181 cases of illegal border crossings involving around 1800 migrants. More than 1,400 people tried to cross the border illegally were captured and transferred to the Border Guard.
