Opposition activists from the period of People's Poland want to degrade from the rank of general to the rank of Private Orthodox Metropolitan of Sawa – the superior of the Church in our country. For this purpose, they initiated a collection of signatures with an appeal to president Andrzej Duda. The Metropolitan Sawa was the Orthodox average of the Polish Army from 1994 to 1998.
The pretext is that the metropolitan sent a letter to his fellow brother, the Moscow Patriarch and all Rusi Cyril I on the anniversary of his enthronement. He wrote that “the enemy of religion does not like the stableness of the church, he tries to teardrop it down. What happened in Ukraine is evident by sight.” I don't know what's upsetting about it. After all, any Catholic would agree that “the enemy of religion does not like the stableness of the Church, trying to teardrop it down. What happened in Ukraine proves this by sight” Clearly, Christendom’s enemies will act against it. It is besides known that war is the triumph of the Evil One. To the least degree there is no support or call for war to continue.
The Metropolitan bowed and most likely to stay calm and loyal to Poland – he apologized. In my opinion, that was a mistake. However, this is not adequate for the burning heads of retired revolutionaries of the NRA and Solidarity. Bernard Bujawicki is the leader in the media. He's known for protests for a long time. According to the radio, he protested in March 1968 and was the leading activist of the extremist Fighting Solidarity. (By his way I wonder what they think about balanced views of the mature Kornel Morawiecki on Russia b. activists of his formation?) So we know, about what kind of environment was offended by the words of Archbishop Sawa.
The opponents of the period of the People's Poland rightly opposed the regulation of freedom of speech at that time. They were besides right to argue persecution and later restrict the activities of the Catholic Church. Today, of course, the substance is caricatured and the anti-ecclesiastical activities of the Stalinist period extend until 1989. And we know precisely that apart from the incidents and provocations, the Church developed rather well at the time. The witness is the number of fresh temples built.
Often, in the context of the persecution of the Church, the Resolution of the Union of Polish Literature in Krakow on the Kraków Process of 1953 rightly refers. It was signed by Szymborska, Przyboś, Mrożek or Miecugow. So well-deserved of that time.
I think it's a good comparison. At the time, the most revolutionary and phanatized writers besides expressed "absolute condemnation for the traitors of the Homeland" and mentioned spy and diversional activities. Of course, the consequences are incomparable. due to the fact that there is no sign of equality in the résumés of priest Józef Lelito and head of the Polish Autokephal Orthodox Church of Sawa. However, 1 can compare the reasoning of the Hunwajbins of the only truth. Political vectors are rearranged, reasoning precisely the same. The only difference is that any of these writers were capable and their names were remembered.
