On 2–4 March, Chancellor Friedrich Merz made a working visit to the United States at the invitation of president Donald Trump. The key point was to meet at the White home on 3 March and have lunch together. The Agenda dominated the situation in the mediate East and the escalation of the war between the US and Israel and Iran. In his pre-talk speech with Trump, the Chancellor publically supported the operation against Tehran, speaking of the request to "remove" the regime.
