By 3 April 2026, there are temporary rules in force in the EU that let online platforms to detect and study sexual abuse material on a voluntary basis. The parliamentary committees are working on fresh regulations, but the time is limited. It is essential to establish a legal framework in this area because, as the Euro MP of PiS Jadwiga Wiśniewska emphasizes, sexual abuse against children in the online planet is an increasingly serious threat.

This problem is truly very big. We are talking here, for example, about the phenomenon of utilizing children online, solicitation, seduction, exploitation through the application of various practices. We know that there are alleged pedophile textbooks, which are circumstantial instructions on how to lead to a situation where a pedophile can seduce a child, how to gain the child's trust, how to exploit his confidence. That is why we are working very powerfully in this direction to introduce regulations to defend children from online usage – assures in conversation with Newseria Jadwiga Wiśniewska.

One of the elements of the EU's strategy to combat kid sexual abuse is to amend the Directive establishing a framework for EU criminal law in this area. Last year, during her work in the LIBE committee, the Euro MP stressed that criminal law plays a key function in coordinating the efforts of the associate States in the fight against this phenomenon, which is why it must respond to fresh challenges and technological developments on an ongoing basis. The proposed directive is so intended to improve the ability of associate States to effectively combat these crimes, update and extend the definition of offences and strengthen mechanisms for prosecution, prevention and support for victims. For the first time at European level, production and possession of alleged textbooks for paedophiles circulating on the net are being penalised.

We are besides talking about the fact that what is prohibited offline must be banned online and that government should be very restrictive. Unfortunately, the usage of children in pedophile practices in the European Union is increasing. We besides note the usage of children of illegal migrants, which are very frequently found in pedophile communities, so we believe it is time to end the uncontrolled migration, which is besides victims of children. We request regulations that will defend children and alert citizens to what is happening in the darknet, in this black sphere. It needs a dam, even at the expense of your freedom. – says MEP.

There is presently a derogation in the EU from EU rules on online privacy. This allows online platforms to detect and study kid sexual abuse material. They can do it voluntarily, utilizing technology. The derogation was initially to apply until August 2024, but the European Parliament voted a year ago to postpone it until 3 April 2026. The MEPs stressed the request to rapidly agree on a permanent legal framework that will focus on preventing and combating kid sexual abuse on the Internet.

– There is no more vile and vile crime than a crime against the innocence of a child. For me, then, the issue of protecting children is simply a priority. We request to find regulations that do not seriously affect citizens' privacy, but defend children – emphasises the Euro MP. – We are working both in the LIBE Committee and in the FEMM Committee on regulations relating to this issue. I hope that, in the next year, we will be able to come up with solutions that will pass through the European Parliament due to the fact that all solution must find a majority in Parliament. We see how these environments, peculiarly left-wing and left-wing, are very much on the side of protecting citizens' privacy, not paying due attention to protecting children from online exploitation and seduction.

In February, at the gathering of the Committee on civilian Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE), Deputy Minister of Digitalism Rafał Rosiński stressed that protecting children online is 1 of the most crucial subjects of the Presidency. As he pointed out, the European Union agrees that the fresh rules should warrant at least the same level of protection as current regulations, but that the fresh legal framework must at the same time respect users' privacy.

The request to velocity up work on key EU government has late been reminded by the Ombudsman Monika Horna-Cieślak. She called on the Minister for European Union to make full usage of the Presidency to intensify the work and pay peculiar attention to the request to proceed negotiations on 2 key initiatives: the draft CSAM regulation and the directive.

RPD cited Childlight data – Global kid Safety institute at Edinburgh University, which indicate that more than 300 million children per year fall victim to wicked treatment and sexual abuse online. Last year, 1 in 8 children worldwide experienced the preservation or dissemination of his bare image against his own will.

Krzysztof Gawkowski, Minister of Digitization, at the conference in February, pointed out that in Poland last year more than 7 times more content was detected concerning the sexual exploitation of children on the Internet. 85 percent of the victims were children under 13 and 95 percent were girls. The fast consequence of the applicable services is crucial in combating specified crimes. Thanks to global cooperation and modern technologies Dyżurnet.pl 90% of cases placed on servers in Poland are removed within 48 hours of the notification (85 percent within 24 hours of the notification).
