Minister of Education Barbara Nowack directed
up to a 30-day public consultation draft amendment of the Act Educational law prohibiting the usage of telephones in public primary schools, MEN stated on Tuesday.
By 23 April this year, everyone can express their opinion.
The task assumes that the ban on the usage of primary mobile phones in public schools will besides include
‘other electronic devices’. It will be mandatory for pupils to “stay on the school grounds”. The prohibition is to apply both during lessons and during breaks.
It's forbidden to include students. "However, it will not include teachers and another school staff," stressed MEN.
In addition to primary schools, the rules will besides include arts schools providing general education in primary schools. Offices will be required
to specify in the school statutes the conditions for carrying mobile phones and another electronic devices into the school area.
There will be 2 exceptions according to the draft ban. The first is the teacher's consent to usage the telephone for educational purposes.
(e.g. learning to usage the net safely, conducting a quiz utilizing modern technologies). The second is due to the request for the student to usage the device due to illness, disability or another circumstantial needs
(e.g. measuring glucose levels).
