Members of Foltyn and Fritz removed the Ukrainian flag from the Town Hall in Cieszyn and replaced it with Polish flags, criticising the city authorities for not celebrating the National Day of Memory of Volyn Victims.
Mayor Cieszyn Gabriela Staszkiewicz considered their actions favorable to Russia and announced notices to the prosecutor's office.

The parliamentarian said that on 11 July is the National Day of Memory about Poles – Victims of Genocide made by the CNS and UPA on the east lands of the Second Republic of Poland. This year it is first celebrated as a state holiday.
– They do not want to celebrate them everywhere, but they are inactive on the map of Poland, where on that day they like to pay tribute to Ukrainians than to Poles. ... The city of Cieszyna did not organise any celebrations (...), and Ukrainian flags are flying at the town hall," he pointed out.
