Meeting with prof. Andrzej Nowak at the Warsaw Uprising Museum

The Warsaw Uprising Museum invites you to the alternate past series , i.e. a series of discussions and meetings with distinguished writers, historians, discipline popularizers and pop culture experts, devoted to the creation and analysis of alternate versions of history.

The next gathering on 7 May 2024 at 6 p.m. at the Jan Nowak-Jezioranski Auditorium at the Warsaw Uprising Museum.
The guest will be Prof. Andrzej Nowak – historian, sowietologist, journalist, author of many historical books, including “Between Disorder and Slavery”, “The Cursed Empire of Evil”, “Poland and Russia. The neighbourhood of freedom and despotism X-XXI, as well as monumental “Todays of Poland”.
The talks will be led by Tomasz Kołodziejczak – a author (among others, the cycles of “Last Republic”, “Dominium Solarne”), a journalist, publisher, co-founder of the “Fantastic Channel” on YouTuba. Free admission.


Do historians consider alternate versions of history? Could it be useful in their work? What are the general mechanisms of history, possible turning points, and the impact of events on the course of history? Do we find events, decisions and cases in Poland's past that would importantly affect the destiny of our country? Could “Poland's Acts” have a different course? How well can we measure the events of centuries ago and those who make key decisions? Shouldn't alternate past stay just a domain of literary fiction?
