
On 24 April 2025, representatives of the University authorities attended a gathering with the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Infrastructure, Dr. Arkadiusz Marchewska. On that day, JM Rector Prof. dr hab. inż. Capt. Żw. Adam Weintrit, Chancellor of Mgr. Filip Malata, manager of the Department of Shipowners and Maritime Practices of UMG mgr inż. Capt. Żw. Dariusz Jellonnek besides attended the session of the Commission for Maritime Affairs and Inland Navigation, where 1 of the topics discussed afraid the current functioning of maritime universities, including the Maritime University of Gdynia, the investment needs of the University and the challenges of training future maritime staff, including the construction of the successor of the Youth Day.
The gathering and the gathering of the committee on maritime economy and inland navigation were besides attended by the Rector of the Maritime University of Technology in Szczecin, Dr. Wojciech Ślączka, Prof. PM, Chancellor of PM, Maciej Durajczyk.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Infrastructure granted additional funds for future investments, close to PLN 50 million, including PLN 20 million for the Maritime University of Gdynia for the renovation of dormitories and teaching facilities, improving the cybersecurity of the University, as well as its further technological and investigation development.
