Every country in the world, building the structure of its armed forces, makes strategical choices, defining their precedence capacities. For example, there are countries that have deliberately resigned from having combat aircraft and entrusted the protection of their airspace to allies. However, there is most likely no army that does not have more or little numerous, better or worse equipped, functioning in various formal structures of the military wards of medics. From the position of history, it should be pointed out that initially their tasks were limited to giving first aid to the injured. However, even in the days of ancient Rome there were the first garrison military hospitals in which injured legionaries could recover.

We present to you the latest edition of the Armed Forces Review, the subject of which is widely understood military medicine, especially field medicine.

As part of a package of articles in this field, Colonel Arkadiusz Kosowski, manager of the Department of Military wellness Service, discussed the challenges facing military medicine, while the General of Arms prof. Grzegorz Gielerak, manager of the Military Medical Institute – State investigation Institute, discussed the subject of artificial intelligence and robotics in military medicine. In the medical panel you will besides find articles on: Combat Medic by Lt. Katarzyna Pękal; USG in the military rescue of 2 authors of Captain Aleksandra Majchrzak and Lt. lek. Marta Wójtowicz; medicine under conditions of usage of weapons of mass demolition (CBRN) Major Łukasz Romaniuk; field hospitals and level 1 facilities of Lieutenant Sebastian Sidorowicz. The treatment of blood is devoted to the improvement of Captain Alexandra Matei.

In addition, in the first edition of this year's PES was published, among others, works: Colonel Dr. Krzysztof Wysocki, PhD, on command positions in urbanized environment, Major. Przemysław Portas about overcoming engineering dams and Jack Bilski about the American and European approach to the issue of evacuation of wounded. From another articles I would like to urge to you the improvement of Gen. Dyw. in st. spocz. pil. dr hab. inż. Leszek Cwojdziński on the transformation of conflicts of armed forces and Lt. Col. Maciej Paul on the Russian way of fighting by the "tank carousel" method. In our pages there was besides area for further articles by listeners of the Academy of War Art. This time we print works on unmanned air systems, war games (wargaming) and about driving brigade fire.
