President of the United States Donald Trump had a telephone conversation with Russian president Vladimir Putin just before gathering with Ukrainian leader Volodymir Zelenski.
The American leader stated that it was “good and very constructive”.
According to advisors Putin Yuri Uszakov, the Presidents of the United States and Russia jointly concluded that the Ukrainians proposed and the temporary suspension of fire supported by Europeans would lead to “only an extension of the conflict”.
He stated that the war would end erstwhile Kiev made a "responsible political decision" about the future of Donbas. "This decision should be taken without delay," he added.
Trump's conversation with Putin lasted an hr and 15 minutes. It took place on the initiative of the American side. U.S. president "wanted to discuss the current situation and possibilities of settling the conflict," said Uszakov.
