

As quoted by Earthsight's non-governmental authorities, Lusa reported that the illegal activity of EUR 1.5 billion is affecting most of the EU countries. She explained that Products from Russia are mainly sent illegally to companies producing floors and furniture.
According to Earthsight's investigation EU sanctions in force since July 2022 for exports of Russian wood are regularly celebrated through its shipment from Russia to the EU through 3rd countries, mainly China, Kazakhstan and Turkey.
Poland among recipients of Russian wood
Since then, as the non-governmental organization has established, Russian companies have managed to deploy more than 500,000 m3 of birch wood to EU countries. Over 30 000 m3 of this material for more than EUR 100 million has been placed on the Portuguese market.
