Many erstwhile members of Joe Biden's administration expressed admiration for the scale and boldness of U.S. president Donald Trump's moves in abroad policy in the mediate East, despite his own concerns about their consequences — reports Axios.
According to Axios, in the mediate East and only in the last week Trump announced the abolition of all sanctions against Syria, and besides mediated a truce with Huti and an agreement on the exchange of hostages with Hamas — both agreements were reached without Israel's participation.
"To be honest, I would like to work in an administration that can decision at this speed" – Axios quotes 1 of the erstwhile White home employees.
In addition, erstwhile State Department spokesperson for Biden's time, Ned Price, noted that Trump managed to implement solutions that would be impossible under the governments of another presidents.
“It does all these things, and the answer is almost silence. He has a political ability to do things that erstwhile presidents could not afford due to the fact that he has full power over the Republican club," Price said.
Rob Mulally, a erstwhile Iranian advisor to the Obama and Biden administration, said Trump's approach was both disturbing and respectful.
"It is hard not to feel both the fear of the harm that he can do and the admiration for his desire to get free of so many harmful taboos," he said.
Axios emphasizes that erstwhile Democratic officials believe Trump operates regardless of criticism and is not bound by interior constraints that prevented erstwhile administrations.
Trump announced the abolition of sanctions against Syria during his visit to Riyadh, after talks with Saudi prince Mohammed bin Salman and Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Syrian abroad Minister Asaad al-Shibani welcomed this decision, calling it a turning point for the Syrian people on the way to stableness and reconstruction after years of devastating war.
On Monday Hamas reported that he freed Israeli hostage Idan Alexander, who besides holds US citizenship. The Palestinian movement specified that this happened after contacts with the US administration.
Previously, CNN's tv channel, citing an informed source, reported that Hamas' release of an Israeli soldier with American citizenship could lead to "immediate negotiations on a peace agreement".
