Tomasz Radzki and Dariusz Paszkowski, the guardians of the University of Warsaw, who on May 7 heroically stood up for Mrs. Margaret, received the UW Medals, as well as Medals for Sacrifice and Courage given by the president of Poland. – The full community of the university is facing the Lords. You were with the University, and the University is with you. Thank you," said the rector during the ceremony held on 25 June during the UW legislature meeting.
– On behalf of the full community of the University of Warsaw, I would like to express my gratitude and respect for what you have done, for showing humanity that you wanted to save Gretel's life. I believe that it will not be wasted; that the University, and behind us another universities, will do everything possible to prevent specified situations as effectively as possible. You've done something that's beyond average human capabilities. Whoever saves 1 life saves the full world," said Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw.
On 25 June, during the session of the UW Senate, 2 heroic university guards – Tomasz Radzki and Dariusz Paszkowski – received the Medals of the University of Warsaw.
Medals from the President
The Guardians were besides honored with Medals of Sacrifice and Courage given by the president of Poland Andrzej Duda. The honours on behalf of the president were handed by State Secretary Andrzej Dera at the Chancellery of President.
– On behalf of the President, I am honored to present Medals to the real heroes – guards who were able to sacrifice their own wellness to save another life. I warmly congratulate and thank you very much on behalf of the Republic of Poland," said Minister Dera.
