Former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki (PiS) heard allegations in the 2020 mailing election investigation. Morawiecki stated that he refused to give an explanation on this matter. He stressed that he had to read the case files first.
"I refused to explain (...) As shortly as I got acquainted with the files, I will testify" - Morawiecki said on the way out of the D.A.'s building.
When asked if he heard allegations about the 2020 correspondence election, he replied that of course. "Here you have followed the procedure and presented me with charges" - said B. Head of Government.
Prosecutors accuse Morawiecki that as Prime Minister he had exceeded his powers and took action without a legal basis to prepare and run the presidential election on 10 May 2020 in a purely correspondence mode. (PAP)
