Aleksandr Lukashenka took office as president of Belarus, inaugurating another word of office at a peculiar Tuesday ceremony at the Palace of Independence.
The event took part over 1.1 000 people. It began by announcing by the president of the Central Election Commission Igor Karpienko that Lukashenko had remained elected president "at the will of the Belarusian people in free and democratic elections".

According to the authoritative message, Alaksandr Lukashenko won the presidential election held on 26 January, obtaining 86.82% of all votes. However, independent observers were not allowed to follow the election process, and Lukashenko had previously removed the main rivals by political repression against them.

Ms Lukashenko stated that for years in Belarus, “the standard of elections that could service as international pattern‘.

Among the priorities of his presidency, Lukashenko listed the implementation of national interests, national safety and people. He besides pointed out that from the beginning he had managed to build a national safety strategy from scratch.
– Together we created a modern military organization of the state as a reliable shield for the peaceful work of the Belarusian people and a barrier that cannot be overcome for all aggressor. Belarusians are peaceful people, and Belarus is simply a country that loves peace. We are in favour of a fair area and solving all problems through dialogue," he pointed out.

He besides admitted, without any hesitation, that He managed to make a dictatorship in the country.
– Half the planet dreams of the dictatorship that exists in Belarus. Freedom of speech? We're fine. We have more democracy than those who consider themselves to be its model. We have dictatorship of real actions and people's interests – he said.
Alakasandr Lukashenka has ruled Belarus continuously since 1994. Belsat tv has pointed out that the day of his swearing-in was not chosen accidentally. March 25 is Freedom Day – 1 of the most crucial festivals of the Belarusian opposition.
