Maria Dorota Pieńkowska: Who?
date:25 February 2020 Editor: Editorial
Dear Poetka, thank you for your poem - a bitter reflection on Popielec.

Who?
I'm alive!
I have for you what you love
Lying in a 1000 Ways
To choose to colour for the fact of appearance
Because who needs the fact naked?
What comes to anyone from watching the cross
– that's sad – everyone will admit
I have for you the wonders of this world
In my own sauce or whatever.
I like – I truly like stupid girls
What the lamps took and the oil didn't
I have something beautiful for them.
Mixing Good and Bad
An effective remedy for the remnants of conscience
For elegant gentlemen and ladies
Blunt without the remainder – white stain remains
I'm putting my seal on it.
And I've got them!
That's how it lives in this world.
And my princes and I will give them
These red eyes red carpets...
What about those outside the door?
Like an old Pole...
Then my Mengele didn't kill her.
Today he dies in installments day by day
Let him know nobody wants her here.
Because my people are everywhere
Like then and now – don't you?
So the ones behind the door...
Say, ‘ What can they do? ’
Who's behind them?
Who?
