Marek Baterowicz- With Iga and Hubert at UNITED CUP
date: January 06, 2026 Editor: GKut

From far distant you can see better...(this time as a tennis fan)

Peter Staples/ATP Tour

The year 2026 began well due to the fact that Hubert Hurkacz won with Alesksandr Zwerew, representing the German team, 6:3 and 6:4! The broken Zverev broke the rocket...

But I guess he forgot that the Hurtman had erstwhile declassed Federer himself! Then why are you so nervous?

And Poland took the lead in a match against Germany in the United Cup in Sydney. She went to court after the No. 2 planet of Iga Christmas with good tennis player Eva Lys, but not from the world's top... But a large player yesterday, so Iga won only in the 3rd dramatic set. Besides, all the sets were dramatic here due to the fact that the first 1 won 6:3 Eve, which is not surprising, due to the fact that Iga is slow and sometimes losing the first set. Then he fights like a lion. And so it happened this time, the more so Eve Lys played like a note. But already the second set fell with the spoil of Iga, besides 6:3, and in the 3rd led 3:1—it seemed then that he could not lose. But Eve leveled and Iga's triumph was not certain... Fortunately, she went ahead 4:3 , and then at 5:4, our hopes grew, especially erstwhile Eve broke the first service in the last game. We expected Iga to increase his advantage now, but it didn't. With a strong exchange, Iga sent the ball to the cars, Eve leveled (15:15). And here comes reflection – is it worth constantly playing “on the punch”? It is better to break the rhythm, save the muscles (they are not eternal), and in the minute of shock after “double foul” Eve, usage a different tactic. Psychology suggests trying a dropshot here, and Lys was at the end of the court. And she didn't truly have a chance to get to that ball. Unfortunately, Iga avoids dropshots like the devil of holy water, and that's besides bad. large tennis players love dropshots, and especially many gems inactive gained with this fort. Well, possibly another time Iga will usage this trick, which will besides reduce the torment of fans who want her to win. In the end, Iga won the 3rd set 6:4, and the Polish squad was already moving 2:0 with Germany. And in the debla match (mixt) Katarzyna Kawa and Jan Zieliński defeated A. Zwerew with Laura Siegemund 7:6, 6:3 raising the consequence of the gathering at 3:0 for Poland. The year 2026 began well, and even splendidly... Keep it up!

Marek Baterovich(also tennis fan due to the fact that he hasn't played in a year)
