Marek Baterowicz: Martyrs of Truth
date:12 July 2025 Editor: GKut

From far away, you can see better...

erstwhile the 5th seal of the hand of God broke,

The shadow covered the sun, the waves of the shores broke...

From the graves they arose killed and died.

martyrs of fact stored in bodies

- soldiers, insurgents, poets,

partisans, prisoners of old, workers,

manifestans, shipbuilders, students,

unionists, recruits, priests and miners...

They stood with this Truth-Mother at their graves,

from their breasts the voice reached the chorus wide -

We forget to return, the hr has come,

with the justice of God to fulfill judgments,

what their earthly courts could not deliver,

on the services of executioners, codes hiding in togas,

and the Final Court over their tribunals

He'll heal the earth. Fallen without the commandments of God,

( 1998)

...how this old poem fits the times of chaotic pseudo-democracy, the breakdown of the 3rd Republic, political rapes, the abyss of lawlessness. Since December 2023 we have lost almost the full justice system, and citizens have been imprisoned under any circumstances as late the parent of a tired small Oskar, and people are dying abruptly after hearings like innocent Barbara Skrzypek, priests are killed like murdered hatchet Fr.Lachowicz due to the fact that he did not accept abortion. In the woods they find the body of a prof. of mathematics, and in the river the manager of financial control... Claudia of Toruń dies in hospital, beaten by an “immigrant tourist”, this is the beginning of an epidemic of crimes caused by a wave of refugees. Even the recently elected president is threatened with execution – or due to the fact that as the manager of IPN he learned the fact about the crimes of PRL? Thus, we have only “dimocracy” which falls with smoke and Smolensk fog over the ruins of the 3rd Republic of Poland, and in the Sejm abruptly the vote is interrupted if it is not by the coalition's thought on 13 December...
