Marcin Drewicz: Let us save the Universal Church in Spain
Poland besides receives information about the planned assassinations of the current left-wing Spanish government on the world's largest Roman Catholic temple located in Valleys of the Dead (Spanish: Valle de los Caidos), about 50 kilometres from Madrid.
We already wrote about the Valley of the Dead on our Portal. We complained that pilgrimages and trips from Poland consistently bypassed this holy place, where in fact they should have the first (or last) accommodation after landing in Madrid, on their way to Fatima and Santiago de Compostela.
The National Shrine of the Holy Cross in the Valley of the Deceased is composed of many parts and extends widely, including the leading mountains of the Way of the Cross. In the stone hill, the largest (longest) Basilica in the planet was hollowed out in the mediate of the 20th century. The largest cross in the planet was placed on this hill, measuring 156 metres above Spain.
What are the current intentions of the government? By the way, the Spanish "and international" left wants, that's just... Smash it all (sic!). We hear that now the 9 giant sacred figures were set for the intent by the late sculptor Juan de Avalos (1911-2006), the creator of, among others, the monument of Pope John Paul the Second located before the Cathedral in Madrid itself.
In the Valley above the entrance to the Basilica there is Pieta – the Holy parent paining over the dead body of Jesus. The head of each of these carved figures is greater than the tallness of man. At the base of this mega-Cross were placed figures of 4 Evangelists with their animal attributes; each of these stone blocks of figures measures about 25 metres tall (sic!).
Above them, inactive around the base of this Cross stand equipped with attributes of the several-meter tallness personifications of the 4 Cardinal virtues: Wisdom, Justice, Moderateness, Fortitude. All these are works of the mentioned Juan de Avalos, although during the construction and decoration of the Sanctuary worked in the mediate of the 20th century a full legion of the finest Spanish (and thus globally) artists of all specialties, architects, engineers, technicians. The care of the Valley is exercised by Benedictine fathers surviving in a monastery united with Basilica.
How does the present government of that country want to teardrop down these mighty stone-shattering mega-carves? And let us remember that we are talking about just parts of this peculiar equipment, as we are talking about – as at the outset – due to the fact that the world's vast, largest ZYMSKOCTOLIC Christmas. It is the 21st century and, as you can see, "nothing changes". For it was especially (but not only) the past 20th century that was in any periods in both Spain and Polish lands, and in another countries, the bad times of profanation, desecration and demolition of Catholic temples. We, here, in Warsaw especially, know and remember this, about the Polish East Borders too.
Isn't it time for global PROTEST against any destructive and/or embarrassing Roman Catholic cult of temptations against the Spanish Valley of the Deceased? This is not just a ‘local’ Spanish case! This is simply a Catholic matter, so common, global! Poland too! "Hands off the Valley of the Deceased!".
Let us add that the first hostile acts have already occurred in fresh years. And they consisted of tearing from graves from the level of Basilica and moving to another locality the temporal remains of General Francisco Franco, the initiator and originator of erecting this National Shrine of the Holy Cross, and temporal remains of Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera, a Spanish politician at a young age murdered in prison by communists.
A lot to say about all this, but what we have given above is not little.
Poles! You have a debt on you from the Napoleonic and Karlist wars to the Spanish Catholics, unthinkingly (!) drawn by Our Ancestors. Pay him now, even in part! How? Namely by standing loud and clear in defence of the Valley of the Deceased and encouraging another nations to share in this godly defence work. At the same time, we will defend the most celebrated part of this sculptor, Master Juan de Avalos. I can't believe they're into him, too.
