Marcin Drewicz: The Literary Prize Part II: Letter of the PASTERSKI KEP AND MANIFEST WIECK
This we write, erstwhile it has not yet settled – on the Internet, due to the fact that outside it almost silence – the outrage caused by this Shepherd's Letter of KEP "about entering the synagogue" – that we will briefly call it this. It is said that any priests in Poland even read this letter on Sunday Masses on 22 March 2026.
“We” do not, and during this leading “model” No radio service, no mention. The letter, under which there was no name, could be read on the website of the Polish Episcopal Conference. Thus: a paper signed by – as we realize it – well over a 100 people “under a collar”, in bishops of purple and purple.

Readers will remember – due to the fact that in Poland with simple collective memory there is an expanding problem – the 1 from just fourteen months ago very much in content akin to the letter signed by KEP, very "emotional", by name and surname signed by respective people "under a tie", i.e. – as it is said present – secular Catholics, which we will call the Świecki Manifest.
With permission, the reader asks P.T., but “what has a gingerbread for a windmill?” What has this praying Chapter of the Literary Prize to the Świecie Manifesto?
What do you mean what? However, we do not have adequate cognition of all members Chapters. Nevertheless, 1 of them – let us call him Mr. B – is besides a signatory to the Świecki Manifesto. This man – let us add not at all "on the margin" – at 1 time in his own publication by his own author he punched (sic!) the fresh quoted above "So Needed" of Mr.Ygrekowski, and the quotes from this fresh were amazingly cut, holed and twisted. CITATES!!! What's gotten into him?
It can be assumed here that since so and that since another associate of the same Chapter, or Mr A, expressed his desire to advance another publication by the same Lord Ygrekowski, this full Chapter is (now) internally inconsistent. 1 fights Ygrekowski, another supports him, and it cannot be excluded that both of them do not know (and not only) their views; until they yet find out during the next gathering of the Chapter and there a direct exchange of views.
For these reasons only Mr Ygrekowski did not believe in the chances of a prize or award of his latest book, which would aid him to make a decision on the full matter, which we already know: the nomination for the competition may yet be, if individual is willing to fight for it, but the author of nothing from the Chapter will accept and does not want to contact it at all.
Literary Awards have their sponsors, called patrons in olden times, or people usually wealthy who fund these awards from their pocket annually. It is, and in this case, but... how tiny the planet is! Well, the sponsor, Mr. C, did not sign the Świecki Manifesto mentioned more than a year ago, but... it was rather a group of his closest friends. Friends! For the sake of clarity – we compose here not about any secrets-revellations, but about things that any net user can learn about with “a fewer clicks”.
And so did we, from public publications. Yes, we know about the adventures of Mr Ygrekowski himself not from the publication; and we share this cognition with P.T. Readers, I hereby... By publishing.
The question is as above: at that preliminary stage, did the members of the 1 and the same Literary Prize Chapter, so alongside Mr. B, besides Mr. C know about Mr. A's friendly interest in the latest book by the author Ygrekowski? The same answer: if he doesn't know, he will. But that's not the end of it.
The alleged social consequence – observed only on the net – to the fresh letter of the KEP “about going to the synagogue” was, as should be thought, rather broad. Prominent representatives of the Polish publicist “on the right” made their clear opposition openly. As part of the digression, note that it is simply a situation in the Polish Catholicism of the last generations FULLLY NEW, and in the past of the Millennium besides isolated.
In the past of the Universal Church, the last specified events are to be sought a fewer 100 years ago – in cases where the bishop or abbot or parish priest (or prince!) turned to the side of heresy, and clusters of faithful people along with more prominent people among them did not want to go to heresy. And these very ancient times of that first arianism against which St. Atanazy was acting? You could talk about it longer, but we're putting it on hold here... due to the fact that we have another one.
due to the fact that these fourteen months earlier, before the letter of KEP, the then opposition to this "under the tie" of the Świecki Manifest was alternatively insignificant. respective brave publicists, alternatively different than those who have late protested against the letter of the KEP, have appealed. And again, “what does gingerbread have to...”? Yes, it does, due to the fact that with the methodical beating of the Świecki Manifesto it was then on 1 of the hospitable web portals, besides this well-known writer, Mr.Ygrekowski.
Let us add that now, i.e. against the letter of KEP, Ygrekowski was no longer performing, having looked at the net with relief, stating that he immediately did so many others, and how prominent. But in the past he has been reprimanded, and virtually alone (!), others heard in the church (and in the Church) statements, how astonishingly bizarre in fresh times (smoothly speaking), on various another subjects.
What about the Literary Award Chapter? The same question – with common knowledge. On the 1 hand, does Mr A, or whoever expressed appreciation for Mr Ygrek's last book, and on the another hand direct and, to say so, indirect signatories to the Świecki Manifest, i.e. Mr B and C, know or remember not so erstwhile publicist open engagement of this Mr Ygrekski against the Świecki Manifest.
In another words, would you at all want to advance in the Chapter of the Literary Award the manifestation of the work of Mr Ygrekowski, if he knew that this Ygrekowski acted openly against the political-ideo Manifesto Świecki, which was supported by Mr B and C?
mediocre this Chapter of the Literary Prize – specified a SOUND. And to say so, sitting “in the pocket” of a friend of the authors and signatories of the Świecki Manifesto, a full associate of it with a full voice.
How are decisions being wiped out in specified a diverse body? – we ask with sincere sadness and compassion. Has it been better before? – so that it is not like "doing sausages" or "negotiating laws in parliament"?
But another chapters of literary awards, those to say, not praying, do not have specified a problem. Did any of them sign the Świecki Manifesto? most likely not. However, how do we know that for sure?
