Marcin Bogdan: Reset of Archbishop Grzegorz Rysia- from our archive
date:29 September 2021 Editor: Editorial

In mention to the controversy which the Episcopal Letter of Poland has produced in fresh days, we are reminded of the column of Marcin Bogdan from 2021.

A fewer months ago, on the alleged equality parade, 1 of the left-wing sex activists staged the Mass. It is hard to talk of profanity due to the fact that it was a regrettable parody having nothing to do with the actual Eucharist and the pretend priest activist is known for his hostility to the Church. However, there has clearly been an image of spiritual feelings, and it is the authorities of the state who should have the right consequences for the perpetrator.

On 13 September this year, a youth gathering called the Youth Arena "Reset" was held at the Łódź slag stadium. Archbishop Grzegorz Ryś, who attended this meeting, said to the assembly: “I know you are a small surprised, no 1 knew he was at Mass – but all the elements of Mass were I want to tell you.”

Recording - from 3.04 hours - performance of Archbishop Rysia:

So what should we call what happened in Łódź in the presence and with the ordination and sacre bishop of the priest erstwhile 6.5 1000 young people were incapable to realize that they were attending Mass? They knew Polish language, heard and understood what was said and were unaware that they participated in the Eucharist? So, wasn't it profanation?

The Episcopate issued a message in this case. In paper submitted on 27.09 by PAP:

Chairman of the Committee on God's Culture and Discipline of the Sacraments of the Polish Episcopal Bishop Peter Greger unequivocally stated that "The priest is simply a servant of the holy liturgy and he is not allowed to add anything, leave or change on his own in the celebration of the Mass."

Archbishop Ryś made only an apology to all those who "They felt offended or even worried about the form of the Eucharist celebration." This is simply a popular form of apology in fresh times, which does not mention to its own responsibility but to the fact that the environment has taken distant someone's behavior. I don't think they recognized that they were at Mass so in these apologies it's hard to admit repentance and repentance. No penance was imposed either by the Church authorities due to the fact that no consequences were drawn despite the message made to Archbishop Rysia.

Just a fewer weeks earlier, 1 of the Costa Rican priests had celebrated Mass according to a new, binding rite so much that in Latin. The faithful attending the service, although not all word of Latin could understand, had no uncertainty that they were attending the Eucharist. The Latin language did not divide the faithful, but it combined over the barriers of national languages in common prayer. Nevertheless, the church authorities suspended this priest. Did double standards that digest modern European and planet politics besides become the domain of the Church?
