The rule of unanimity is simply a actual rule of equality between the smaller and the larger, the weaker against the stronger, everyone, and everyone. This mechanics is seemingly strong due to the fact that it can block the specified majority, but in practice it is weak due to the fact that the 35% threshold of the population is hard to reach, as many as 58% of the population live in the 4 largest countries (Germany, France, Spain and Italy) and in the remaining 23 countries only 42%. As you can see, this mechanics serves large countries that can easy block the initiatives of smaller countries, and smaller countries do not offer the chance to argue the greater dictatorship. An excellent example was the effort to build minorities blocking the Mercosur agreement imposed by Germany, erstwhile opposition was raised by 5 countries, but representing only 28.7% of the population.

Nevertheless, the entry into force of the EU-Mercosur agreement hung on the proverbial Italian. The European Parliament has decided to mention the agreement to the TEU to examine the legal compatibility of the agreement with the existing treaties. 334 MEPs voted for, 324 against and 11 abstentions. Soon, possibly even in respective months, Germany will announce the transformation of the European Union into 1 supranational state with the capital in Berlin, with 1 single currency, with 1 army commanded by experienced German Führers, with 1 central bank in Frankfurt am Main, in which all the associate States of the erstwhile Union will deposit their gold resources. Just 1 vote, 1 vote without 1 shot.
