Marcin Bogdan: Do thieves regulation Poland?
date:19 June 2026 Editor: GKut

The sympathizers of the current government, or possibly more opposed to the regulation of the United Right, justify many controversial regulations and regulations by the fact that these are EU requirements. We can complain, but since we are utilizing the Union's "goods" we must respect EU rules. Do we truly have to? Do all EU countries have the same rules and regulations?

For respective months now, both those who have right-wing views, and those who have left-liberal views, have been swearing on the bail strategy from cans and disposable PET bottles. All curse the same, only those with leftist – liberal views, according to the above-mentioned intellectual scheme, blame the Polish authorities for these stupid regulations, but EU regulations. due to the fact that from 1 January 2027 there will be specified an work in the Union, so the parliament and the government coalition did not wait for the last moment, but introduced this work 1 year in advance. And what did our Czech neighbors do? The Czech Republic is in the European Union on the same terms as Poland. But in the Czech Republic, the legislative work has someway stalled, and the next draft bill mentions the possible introduction of a bailout strategy since the beginning of 2028. Yeah, it's not a typo since the beginning of 2028, not 2027. As the Czechs take a look at the Poles taking bags with disposable bottles and bottles from bottle to bottle, the legislative work will most likely be extended again. What, they're gonna kick the Czechs out of the Union?

They won't. They won't, due to the fact that the Czechs aren't a trashy country, they don't poison the environment with bottles left in the woods. Cans and plastic bottles are valuable secondary natural material. Therefore, recycling companies collect plastic waste for free from Czech households. Yeah, for free. Czechs don't pay for paper, plastic, glass or metal. This is an additional incentive for waste segregation, as the waste removal charge depends solely on the quantity of mixed waste. The more segregated plastic, glass, metallic and paper are collected for free, the little mixed waste you will gotta pay for exports. And here the reader will most likely ask the question: well, how much do you gotta pay? most likely a lot, since segregated waste is exported free of charge, exports of mixed waste must cost the Czech Republic a lot. The fee, as I wrote, depends on the quantity of these municipal waste and on the place of residence, as these charges are set at local, local and local level. But the determined fee can not be higher than – note - 1200 kronor per year per person. 1200 kronor is about 215 PLN. 215 zlotys per year is 18 zlotys per period per person. Not more than PLN 18. Who of your residents in Poland pays this rate for the removal of garbage?

A book could be written about comparisons of different types of fees in Poland and the Czech Republic. I'll just mention the road charges. The year-round vignette for a passenger car costs 2570 kronor or 450 PLN in the Czech Republic. In Poland a one-time drive from Warsaw to the German border in Świeck and back is simply a charge of 276 PLN. During 1 journey you gotta pay 60% of the yearly fee in the Czech Republic.

Following these fewer examples, it can be concluded that the Czech State, for the sake of its citizens, is in debt to power. It turns out that the average increase in Czech debt is presently 822 million kronor per day, i.e. after the calculation of about 140 million PLN. 8 times little than Poland owes. Every day, besides on Sunday and holidays, the ruling coalition owes Poland PLN 1 billion 100 million.

Do Polish thieves rule?
