President Karol Nawrockand announced on Thursday that he had decided to veto the amendment of the Act on the National Judicial Council, which assumes the election of the judges of the Council members by all judges.

Amendment of the Act on the National Judicial Council

Revision of the KRS Act and the related fresh of the Electoral Code of the Sejm passed on 23 January, 5 days later the legislature accepted it without amendment.

According to the drafts, 15 judges of the National Court registry were to be elected in direct and secret elections - organized by PKW - by all judges in Poland, not - as is presently - by the Sejm.
