Macron: Europe must increase its defence spending

France has planned to earmark 413 billion euro for defence from 2024 to 2030 to bring the country and Europe into line with expanding global threats. This is simply a crucial increase compared to the erstwhile period erstwhile France spent EUR 295 billion between 2019 and 2020. This increase is to be achieved by expanding the defence budget annually, as is illustrated by the budget for 2026, which is expected to be EUR 57.2 billion.
