Latvian president Edgars Rinkeviczs confirmed on Wednesday that the drone that crashed last night in Latvian territory belonged to Ukraine. He added that further incidents with drones could not be ruled out and so the precedence remains to strengthen the country's air defence, stated the Latvian public broadcaster LMS.
Rinkeviczs said at a press conference that the drone flew into Latvia's airspace, carrying out a mission aimed at facilities in Russia.
The president recalled that on 2 March, he visited the east border of Latvia and was pleased with the advancement made on strengthening the infrastructure in which anti-tank dams were installed and ditches were created.
