Latvia in 2017 bought from Austria 35 haubic M109A5Ö, 10 command cars Rechenstellenpanzer M109 and 2 vehicles to learn driving. This allowed for a crucial increase in the capabilities of the army, which after 4 years decided to buy another 18 haubic (in 2022 Ukraine was handed over six departments). However, it has been a long time, and now the soldiers there are beginning another phase in the training process on these already utilized vehicles by picking up artillery simulators (at least 2 copies). The inauguration of this event was attended by the defence minister of Latvia Andris Sprūds.
