Police in London arrested a man suspected of arson of Starmer's house

Police in London detained a 21-year-old man on charge of a series of arsons – after a home fire owned by British Prime Minister Keira Starmer, law enforcement officials informed on Tuesday.

Earlier, the London police press service reported that the investigation was underway after reports of a fire at Starmer's house. The Telegraph paper reported that anti-terrorism police are investigating an alleged bomb attack on Starmer's home.

"The man was arrested in connection with a series of arsons," said metropolitan police in a statement.

According to law enforcement, the detainee is 21 years old and is suspected of arson with the intention of endangering the lives of people. The arrest is connected to 3 incidents, the police specified.

There was a fire at the home of British Prime Minister Keira Starmer on Monday. According to the Times newspaper, the fire damaged the front door of the building. The Prime Minister's house, where he lived for almost 20 years before moving to Downing Street, is located on Countess Road in the northern part of the capital. Media reports Starmer is renting his home now.

Police are besides investigating 2 another incidents: a vehicle fire on 8 May and a fire at the entrance to a private property on 11 May. According to the Times, the vehicle caught fire close the Starmer house, and the tiny flat where the fire besides occurred was owned by Starmer from 1991 to 1997. Law enforcement officers are investigating whether these incidents may be linked to a fire at the Prime Minister's house.
