– For 19 years we have been comprehensively supporting Polish and abroad soldiers in garrisons, in polygon training centres, in task groups and in many parts of the planet – General Dariusz Mendral, head of the Armed Forces Support Inspectorate, spoke in Bydgoszcz during the festival of this unit.

As General Mendral emphasized, the emergence of IWSZ was the consequence of a deep improvement of our army's logistics system. “The first premise for the creation of the Inspectorate of Support and the creation of a territorial supply strategy was to relieve military units of having to deal with financial and economical activities and thus focus their efforts on operational and training activities,” explained the general.

The Head of the Inspectorate besides stated that the scale of the tasks of the Inspectorate was well reflected in the budget available to that body. – The current dimension of our yearly expenditure, which amounts to nearly PLN 47 billion, means that in the inspectorate we are liable for the execution of 3.5% of the budget expenditure of the full country," said Gen. Mendral.

Addressing his subordinate officers and military staff, the head of the IWSZ stressed that it was the logistics services that had to warrant Polish citizens full assurance that the funds allocated to them were spent on a deliberate, legal, reliable and economical basis.

The Armed Forces Support Office, which has been in existence for 19 years, is now the most crucial logistics institution in the Armed Forces of Poland.
