– We carry out projects up to the national supply chain: from construction materials and joinery, through multimedia and lighting, to large-format printing or logistics – so the BWS Expo Plus, which is the largest company in Poland creating exhibition surfaces at the fair, refers to the plan of the regulations "local content" that the Council of Ministers will shortly adopt.

If we have large specialists and suppliers in Poland, it is worth building projects with them – says BWS Expo Plus. According to the definition proposed by the Ministry of State Assets, the local content strategy refers to 2 dimensions: the general 1 – covering the full task and operational one, dedicated to the fulfilment of the objectives of the Ministry of State Assets.

– We make a common mention point which will let to consistently strengthen the participation of Polish companies in strategical investments – in this way Wojciech Balczun, Minister of State Acts defines the definition of Local Content.

BWS Expo Plus: we implement projects up to the national supply chain

As can be seen on government websites, it is broad and flexible to take into account the specificities of individual industries and not exclude any entities.

– At BWS Expo Plus, we carry out projects to the maximum on the basis of the national supply chain: from construction materials and joinery, to multimedia and lighting, to large-format printing or logistics – says Anna Pannert from the management board of this largest Polish company and 1 of the largest companies in Europe that make exhibition space at the trade fair. This approach, he states, results from a very simple doctrine – on the 1 hand from the Poznań economy, or rational management of resources, and on the another hand from local economical patriotism. “We think that if we have large specialists and suppliers in Poland, it is worth building projects with them,” Anna Pannert admits.

Local content priorities of government

It can besides be read on government pages that according to the directions adopted by the Council of Ministers for the second part of the word of office – the precedence of the ministry – is repolonisation understood as an increase in the participation of national companies in investment projects carried out by State Treasury companies. This approach is intended to translate into production growth, skills improvement and occupation creation in Poland.

– In the trade fair and exhibition industry, this concept has long functioned. The process starts with concept and plan – it is the work of our designers and architects. Subsequently, most of the elements are produced in national laboratories and production plants. This applies to structures, carpentry, electrical installations or multimedia, as described by Anna Pannert. In her opinion, this is why added value remains in the Polish economy. “At the same time, we have full control of quality and timeliness, which is absolutely crucial in the trade fair manufacture – we frequently build stands in very short terms and in many countries at the same time”, he explains. She besides adds that the squad she manages – designers, technicians, logistics and assembly crews – are Polish specialists who work in implementations at the biggest fair in Europe and beyond. – Thanks to this we build competences, which then strengthen the competitiveness of Polish companies. It can be said that we export services, but besides Polish know-how in the plan of exhibition experiences – notes Anna Pannert from the BWS Expo Plus board.

Polish companies designing and erecting stands – at the forefront of Europe

Designing and erecting stands at fairs in Poland, Europe and even outside of our continent – e.g. in Asia, home companies have gained designation there, which is based, among others, on their expertise, robustness or flexibility and velocity of operation. To a large degree they are average and tiny entities, frequently even family, created respective generations ago.

– The exhibition manufacture is developing very rapidly – present the fair stand is not only a construction but frequently a multimedia, interactive or commercial space – informs the BWS Expo Plus management representative. He besides points out that present practically all fair in Europe uses the services of Polish exhibition companies. – Therefore, we invest in fresh technologies, prototyping or 3D printing, which let faster investigating of solutions and reducing production costs. This is an component of the same doctrine again – make competences locally and then usage them in global projects – says Anna Pannert.

What is the national share?

In her view, many projects can besides clearly indicate what percent of the value is of national materials, services or competences. “This is frequently a crucial part of our manufacture – precisely due to the fact that design, production and logistics are taking place in Poland. Thanks to this, projects carried out abroad are inactive mostly based on Polish companies and specialists – he explains and points out that this is happening in the planet of global supply chains, late disrupted again, erstwhile service providers are increasingly returning to local competences and partnerships.

– In Wielkopolska, for generations, there has been a very pragmatic approach to business – investing in quality, sound cost management and long-term relations with partners – Anna Pannert reports, admitting that the company she manages performs this doctrine on a regular basis. “For it is yet something simple: to build projects at a global level, but based on local competences and liable economical development,” he concludes.
