Lithuania completed the construction of 27 dams at borders with Russia and Belarus

Lithuania has completed the construction of 27 engineering dams at the borders with Russia and Belarus; this initiative is part of the Baltic Defence Line, which is simply a task implemented by 3 Baltic countries, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia – notified the Lithuanian Ministry of Defence. He besides announced the construction of another 23 dams.

"Wojsko, conducting more detailed planning and agreeing a defence concept with NATO plans, considered that there should be more specified measures," said Lithuanian Deputy Minister of defence Tomas Godliauskas, quoted by BNS.

The hotel expects to build another 23 engineering dams by 2030, which would increase their full number to 50. In specified places, the military gathers all kinds of anti-tank equipment, which is intended to make it hard to decision the forces of the opponent - e.g. steel “lakes”, barbed wires, concrete “Dragon teeth”.
