Lithuania is dynamically accelerating the modernization of its armed forces and becoming 1 of the most active NATO countries on its east flank. Vilnius sees Russia as a long-term strategical threat, so it is steadily expanding investment in air defense, military infrastructure, munitions production and cooperation with allies. Lithuania attaches peculiar importance to relations with Germany and Poland, which are seen as key pillars of regional deterrence and defence planning.
