The Ligurian shipyards of Fincantieri are being built here by Italian FREMMs

It fits into the wide-ranging actions of the North Atlantic Alliance to respond to the war in Ukraine and the increasing tension on the NATO-Russia line. Its aim is to guarantee the safety of NATO's maritime communication routes and airspace on this watershed, as well as to strengthen anti-aircraft defence and rocket delicate critical infrastructure facilities, including those located in Poland.
