MP Bartłomiej Pejo during the press conference in the Sejm, 12 June 2024.
– The Left wants to charge us further taxes. Taxes, which will primarily concern the alleged flipper trade. So those people, those entities that frequently manage empty spaces. Which brings us to the market. And from these civil-law activities the Left proposes further taxes.
Taxes that will, of course, make apartments little accessible or just more expensive.
The Left's proposal is 10% taxation on civil-law activities in cases where a year has not passed between the transaction [purchase of the apartment] and the transaction [sale of the apartment]. taxation 6% if 1 year has passed, but 2 years have not passed. And taxation 4% if this time ranges from transaction to transaction between 2 years and 3 years.
Additionally, if there is not enough, the Left proposes introducing a degree in taxes on the number of housing units held. At the moment, When we buy a 3rd flat within 5 years, this taxation will be further 3%. If fourth flat 4%. And if 5 or more dwellings additional 5%.
This will, of course, lead to an increase in housing prices and will hit Polish and Polish pockets. (...) This is simply a scandalous blow in the pockets of Poles.
