Letters to the editorial board of Angola (23.06.2024)

The ideals went to Brussels.

In the October elections, I voted for the opposition, and I expected the government formed by Prime Minister Tusk to be made up of the faithful to the end of the praetorians, who will effectively and rapidly repair our country and will not complete their mission until they have fulfilled their tasks before them. And it seemed at first: bold, concrete, decisive decisions pointed to the will to make changes, aroused the public's expectations that yet there were people who wanted to democratize life, reconstruct normality in the country. In the meantime, after a fewer months, it turns out that the people on whom we had hoped decided to run for the European Parliament, abandoning their mission as it were. To explain that in the EP they must give opposition to Eurosceptic supporters, completely me (and most of my friends) do not convince.

In the EP, the will of the government can be pursued by almost anyone, where there is no request for fiery speeches, superb speeches, only a appropriate vote. The request to convince the public of the request to make certain changes exists primarily here, in non-unanimous yet divided Poland. These are the people we voted for, we wanted them to be the faces of the changes we made, we trusted them. It is hard not to think that these individuals have betrayed their constituents in any way, mourned for the EU's apanases. Therefore, I will not give my vote to them this time, and many others will most likely do so. This is how ideals are lost and alienated from their political options. Waldemar K.

Nonsense

I am pleased that the construction of the fresh airport has been subject to a general discussion. I don't see the request for this construction, but my voice doesn't gotta count. I will remind you of the genesis of this project: due to the fact that Lech Walesa has an airport, Jarosław will fund the larger Lech Kaczyński and... stay in the family. That's the only reason for this construction! More towers were expected to be?! As with the thought of this man, they depict his actions during the pandemic, due to the fact that he made the decisions. Bandage of forests and cemeteries was expected to defend from entering these areas?! It should be the opposite. There was no anticipation of gathering “on the back” of another person, specified as in public transport. I wonder what else this man will think of yet resting next to his brother in Wawel...? There's nothing to wait for!

In the face of the Ukrainian war, the question is: What does democracy have in common as a strategy with the military strength of a state that is simply a associate of a community of democratic states? Is there a common feature that combines affirmative or negative phenomena? It seems to be gone, but I think it is. All, I repeat, all without exception, countries liberated from oppression and control of individual stronger, under whom they function both in Europe and in another parts of the world, choosing to enter the way of building and perpetuating democracy, first cut, and mercilessly, spending on the army.

We're not exceptions. From close to half a million armies inactive in the late 1980s. We went down at a critical minute after 20 years to a small over 90 thousand. Ba! We are not the only ones who, in the midst of the old demos, have resigned from compulsory collection. The effect? We no longer have reserves to supplement the losses in the event of war. It was painfully convinced by Ukraine in the war with Russia. He wants to get on the way of democracy, too. Is she gonna make it? If at all, it is not at the expense of calling the army, due to the fact that the neighbor, even without Putin, will not resign from the planned expansion to the West. What about us? We late bought 4 large blow-up blimps from America for borrowed dollars (from America), with the "Barbara" suspended radars, the first of which will start in mid-2026. They have “see” from a tallness of 5 to 6 km at a distance of more than 300 km low flying objects of Russia. The generals under the hats are delighted with them, but in conversations they forget to add that they can only operate in peacetime. They're easy to shoot down. But it's good.

What about the others? What about civilian defense? How does this over 400-kilometre engineering dam a la line Maginota look? Who's expected to defend everything in the warehouse area all the time, due to the fact that for the military, and for the civilian population? How do you build it in secret from Russia? Is that even possible? And the 2 most crucial questions, I guess. First – how do you convince the people surviving east of the Vistula River that this is necessary? Second – where to get all this money from TU and NOW due to the fact that we don't have much time? The second question is simple if you answer the first one, that is to say, not only those surviving east of the Vistula, but all – due to the fact that the sources of backing are 2 after... the illegalization of the Law and Justice and the Confederation. The first is to liquidate the 800+ (60 billion PLN) electoral bribe and the second origin – it is the finances of the Church, which must be cut or reduced to a minimum.

The proposed PLN 10 billion is not much. The debt won't do any good, due to the fact that what's going to be built needs to be maintained, stocked and protected. Will the countries of the European Union contribute? Probably, but on 1 condition. We will gotta have a permanent, separate position in the budget for this intent and then the European Parliament can approve any money for us each year, due to the fact that it will be in their interest. Especially the Germans will support. Why? That's what they utilized to be utilized to flying low-air airplanes and driving on tank highways off the East German border erstwhile they were doing exercises. And I will remind you that in East Germany there were formerly 16 russian divisions. Why? We're expected to be worse? Aren't we getting utilized to it? We'll get utilized to it, but only if we want to, by giving up publishing and privileges for those who should tighten their belt. Waiting for Russia to fall apart is waiting for the sun to emergence in the west, not in the east. TERMINATOR

Warsaw takes off crosses

Mr Rafał Trzaskowski's decision to take off crosses in offices has sparked a wave of discussion not only in the media. I besides want to talk on this. I am a believer Catholic and it doesn't substance to me whether the cross in the office hangs or not, I come to the office to settle the substance and I don't know what the cross could aid me with. Since I was a child, I have been taught to cross the cross or the church to say goodbye. Now, petents enter the office, students enter the school, and patients enter hospitals, and no 1 peculiarly pays attention to the cross, if they announcement it at all. erstwhile I went to school, alternatively of the cross, there was a image of Władysław Gomulka, and later Edward Gierek, and religion was in catechical halls. Young people willingly attended religion, and churches were full of believers. Now there are crosses everywhere, youths sign out of religion, and churches ravage. I am in favour of removing or covering the cross in the Sejm area and I want to justify it. Well, Christ, dying on the cross and sacrificing his life for our sins, showed love for man, or neighbor, and forgave his persecutors. The cross not only means the passion of the Lord, but common love for one's neighbour and an act of forgiveness. And what we see in the Sejm, where MPs, standing under the cross or looking at it, insult each other, talk, hatred each other. There is besides Kozakiewicz's gesture, I do not know whether with love addressed to political opponents or towards the cross. I believe that Members simply do not deserve the cross in the Sejm to hang... Greetings. PIOTR L.

To Members

Ladies and gentlemen, it is you, Members and Members, who are the law who most insult our God with your unbelief in his power. due to the fact that that's what the laws you've passed in the Sejm show. Our Christian God did not frighten anyone with imprisonment or torture for deficiency of religion in him. His boy taught us to forgive and to teach: “Do not defy evil; but if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the another cheek over to him! To him who wants to be righteous with you and to take your robe, turn aside your coat.”

Being nailed to the cross, he forgave his oppressors. You Catholic MPs are passing a bill that a man who says anything incorrect about your conduct may be accused of insulting your spiritual feelings and that includes priests and the Catholic Church. Standing back to the symbol of our faith, you think that God cannot hear your lies and your speech of hatred. Our God does not request your protection and hypocrisy, and you offend Him most with unbelief in His power. You have allowed doctors to refuse to aid a patient defend their spiritual principles, contrary to the oath they have made.

Did not Jesus say, “You will love your neighbour as yourself.” So halt terrorizing non-believers or another religions and your fellow believers with unwarranted fear. You just want the bishops to support your group, and the priests preach it with ambon. God will not punish you for the sins of others, so be not afraid of the law allowing abortion, for it is your God who gave us life and 10 commandments. You truly think our God couldn't handle the abortion problem alone? I will add a fewer words to "The Priest in Civility". erstwhile I read about environments openly fighting the Church, I don't know: laughing or crying? Can you be a priest in civilian society? No! No! You're either a priest or a private person.

Is reminding priests that they must live according to the principles set by Jesus an attack on the Church? No! No! due to the fact that the Church is not clergy, it is we who are faithful. After all, the gods be through believers. Dear Lord, people are not demanding the delegalization of the Church, but the departure from it of those ossified grandparents who act against God by their actions. After all, God gave us 10 commandments and free will to see how we would behave. Why do these older men go against their Lord's will? Your God has allowed us not only to err, but besides you. She'll justice us after she dies, and she'll justice you. The Lord writes about the death of a priest murdered by UB, not to mention how we Christians could execution full nations if they refused to accept Christianity. Should the death of a fistful of priests balance what they were doing? How many people were burned at the stakes, how many died in the church execution rooms? Killing full cities is our Catholic method.

You're going to make me a church fighter, too. And I just want priests not to think of themselves as masters who can teach us how to live. You and your bishops are to be our servants. You have forgotten Jesus' words: “Whosoever of you wants to be the most important, let him become a servant of all those whom I entrust to your care” (Mt 20:28). I will add the words addressed to you clergymen by our God: “Whoever becomes the origin of sin for 1 of these small ones who believe in me, it would be better to hang a millstone around his neck and drown him in the depths of the sea”--Matthew chapter 18, verse 6. Yours sincerely. K. Mr Gruszewski

Extraordinary Communion

This happened at the Bernardine Fathers' Church in Wroclaw on Saturday 18 May at the second round. The girls in beautiful white dresses, and the boys in the albachs, they went to communion in 2 groups. St. August's Church is simply a poewangelite neo-Romanian temple in the early 20th century. The architects of the church were A. Bottcher and R. Gaze. It's a reminder of the past of this temple. The church survived the war siege and in the sea of rubble it was experienced by the Polish Wrocław. After the war he came to the Augustine fathers. Our youngest grandson Matthew was among the children who went to communion. My parents chose this place. Although they are residents of the celebrated Jagodna, they resigned from the place of communion in the church on Jagodno. He led the Gospel, with a grin on his face, Father Gregory. The children received it beautifully and joined the Mass with joy. The daughters of opera divas were charmingly singing: Helenka – Joanna Dobrakowskia and Malena – the daughter of Aleksandra Kurzak and Robert Algana. The guests mentioned here “from the Opera” participated in the liturgy, performing celebrated spiritual songs, including “Ave Maria”. Father Gregory, mentioning that in Wrocław he had directed his first steps to the Opera, but he never thought that the Opera would come to his church. The performance of artists who sang from the balcony was a large experience for participants of the event. Many of them first heard artists, known from the opera scenes of the world. Although this happened in the church, my emotion and all the participants were great. Aleksandra Kurzak and Roberto Algana shortly afterwards sang in the Wrocław opera “Toska” Giacomo Puccini. This beautiful day and wonderful gathering at the Topacz Castle will be remembered by children, their parents and all Augustian guests and brothers. Mr Stanislaw NOSOL, citizen writer

Remember the gardens...

Recently, there have been frequent voices about the future of game gardens. On the 1 hand, it is said that the gardens will be taken from the plots, and on the another hand that the current government does not plan to expropriate the gardens. Since I myself am a gunman, I think extremist solutions are needed, due to the fact that what is presently happening on plots has nothing to do with the thought of household Land Gardens. Real plotters have little and little to say on the plots, and their expectations are blocked by extended administrative structures for which maintaining the current position is most important. Of course, I don't know if it's on all the plots, but from what I hear and read, my garden is no exception. First of all, they cannot effectively address the conversion of land into a permanent residence. I don't know what the rules are, but houses are set for a year. Both these houses and the improvement and fences of these plots have no justification in the applicable regulations. It is very easy to imagine how the plotters feel – the neighbors of the plots where full families live. For example, working next to a shimmer or a foundation-filled concrete mixer is not what average plotters expect.

In addition, land usage charges have increased importantly in fresh years. There utilized to be 1 lease fee, now there were others, e.g. for the removal of garbage, energy charge, road repair, etc. I think that this is what the operation of permanent residents in the gardens has a crucial impact on, due to the fact that they make expanding expenditure, for example, for the removal of garbage or road repairs. The expanding costs are spread to all parcels who gotta pay, for example, for the removal of garbage even if they do not usage the dumpster at all. In addition, 2 electricity consumption rates have late been in operation – last year there was a 250 kWh limit for the lower rate, and this year there is only 125 kWh. I think that a average parcel is adequate for even 125 kWh, but not for what they live all the time. It is not known how they are accounted for utilizing energy, but at least in my garden actual consumption of the energy of the garden is higher than the sum of the consumption of all plots. Thus, the alleged energy charge that even those who have consumed symbolic amounts of energy during the year gotta pay. In conclusion, I believe that it should be either as shortly as possible to expropriate the plots as possible, or to consistently enforce the rules in force in the gardens. SPECIES

Weekend plans

When Wiesław Michnikowski sang in the Cabaret of the Elders in 1961: The old man's life is funHe was... 40. He must have lived a real happy life, due to the fact that he lived to be 95. This song reminded me erstwhile I was trying to set up a agenda for the next fewer days. It'll be fun, I thought. present I have alternatively a day free from going out, meetings, events, although – erstwhile beginning the FB – I noticed 4 notifications about upcoming events, but I will not even analyse which events are involved, due to the fact that in my head I have a plan for the next days. Actually, it's not until tomorrow. In the afternoon there is simply a rehearsal and then a performance of a cabaret in the MAL on the Bielany. It's for warm-up and for beginning the diaphragm with laughter, due to the fact that the real effort will be on Saturday. The morning march with StickyWhat I call our group nordic walking.

You gotta take care of your head and your legs. Also, I can't not go due to the fact that I told the TVP I was walking. If I hadn't gone now, it would have been assumed that tv was lying again. Then the gathering of a group of people writing, reading (what they wrote) and consuming – at the same time – sparkling wine. If individual brings them, you'll understand. The level of literature presented varies, but the wine is always good due to the fact that it is free, so it tastes besides much. I won't be able to enjoy wine for besides long, due to the fact that early in the afternoon I'm going to a organization for the People's Day, where my fresh book will be presented After the competition.

I know the title isn't catchy, but I couldn't afford anything better, in terms of the title, despite a fewer years of intellectual confusion. The Museum Night begins in the afternoon. Since the first one, 20 years ago, I have tried to participate in this event, although with different results – sometimes the queue was besides long and the possible of spending the night standing somewhere outside was not tempting. 1 year, I remember, it was raining, and people were standing. Then – after 2 hours of standing – I gave myself a image for the BOLO and took fingerprints due to the fact that it was a night spent at the station. The Chief of Police.

The Night of Museums is simply a rush to cognition and a sheep's rush in 1 package. For 10 zlotys, they can visit the same museum another day, but they won't see so many people due to the fact that the museum will be empty. So I'm out of the night. Sunday morning I've been invited to a cycling race where, fortunately, I won't compete, but I gotta cheer for my friend and his wife due to the fact that she invited me to this cheering. So the old man's life is fun. And very varied. Live till Sunday night, I think. erstwhile I open the FB, I can see that for generations I have been acquainted with a person, who is besides known for “Generations”, invites me to a lecture: “Motivation to leave home with older people”. It's not right not to go. ANDRZEJ Z.
